Etching is ancient technique, which allows to imprint required image to the surface. When doing positive etching, the material is etched off (material is removed) and the surrounding material stays at original level. When doing negative etching, the surrounding material is etched off (removed) and the image stays on original level. This method of etching requires placing of required image into frame or similar boarders. When etching weapons, I use deep etching (up to 0,4 mm), which can be easily recognized by touch. This comes on expense of delicacy of the etching, but the etching is durable and does not wear off by use and maintanance of the weapon and its partially resistant to corrosion. Price of etching is based on complexity, dificulty and size of the etched image and is determined individually according to order. Blade etchings are situated at the middle of the blade lengthwise.
